Some of the birds I snapped at Rietvlei Nature Reserve in South Africa. 📸 It was my last stop before it was time to head home again after 2.5 weeks of being immersed in nature. I was virtually alone in this reserve (only a handful of other cars) and I loved my drive here. Especially birders will love it here, but also if you like to see some different antilopes that you (almost) cannot spot in Kruger, I can highly recommend visiting. I advise spending about 4 hours here, which allows you to circumvent the entire nature reserve, visit the picnic spots and bird hides and enjoy a coffee.

Ah hello there! 🦒 I really enjoy watching these tall elegant yet a but clumpsy animals roam around the bush. Did you know a herd of giraf is also called a journey? Maybe that’s why I like them 😅 Which picture is your favorite?

Hello you beautiful! So grateful to have been able to spend time with these wonderful animals last month. 🤍 It’s very hard for me to wrap my head around how poachers can hurt & kill rhino’s for the sale of their “horn”. (But there’s always a backside to every story - I tend to believe they only do it out of a complete & deep need for money to provide for theirselves and their families. It are the buyers who make the most money out of this trade, without the risks…)

Adventures are my favorite. 🤍 Driving with a ranger off the beaten path in a private reserve or exploring the more common roads with your own car in a national park - Every experience & opportunity we got to spot animals in their natural habitat, was amazing. Already dreaming about returning to the bush.
